Summer 2021 Events Update

In Summer 2021, Power Poll made a few big changes to events. This page will attempt to summarize the changes and what you need to do, if anything, to participate in future Power Poll events.

Online Events

Like many companies, Power Poll started conducting virtual events on the Internet when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020. We conducted these online events through Zoom - a product familiar with many people. In Summer 2021, we switched to our own video conferencing platform.

There are several benefits to this change, including:

  • There is no software to download and update - the entire process is conducted directly through your web browser.
  • We can ensure that only Power Poll Members are attending Power Poll exclusive events.
  • We will soon offer Power Poll Members the ability to conduct their own meetings and events through this platform.

In-person Events

As we prepare to once again conduct in-person events, we have introduced a simple and secure registration process.

Requirements

There are two requirements for participating in Power Poll events. The event detail page will check for both of these and will alert you if there is a problem.

Sign into Your Power Poll Account

You need to be able to sign into your Power Poll account. This ensures that Power Poll Events are secured and only attended by actual Power Poll Members. As a Power Poll Member, you already have an account, though you may have never signed into it. In this case, you just need to set an initial password. See Signing into Power Poll for more information on this process.

Once you have set an initial password, you can now sign into the Power Poll system to manage your account, invite new members, participate in Power Poll events, and soon, conduct your own meetings.

Use a Compatible Browser

This requirement applies to online events only. Power Poll now uses WebRTC to conduct our online events. WebRTC is an open-standard supported by over 95% of all browsers currently in use. If your browser is one of the few that does not support WebRTC, you will need to update it or change browsers. See Browser Compatibility for more information.
