In the recent Power Poll Jackson, we asked two questions of our Power Poll participants. Here's how you answered.
Question #1 asked, "House Speaker Gunn has recently suggested that he could hold up the disbursement of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds until a plan to end the income tax in Mississippi is enacted. Do you support this approach?"
All respondents said "No," with 38 percent of you answering "No, it's two separate matters," and 63 percent saying "No, and I think we should keep the income tax and allocate the federal funds
Question #2 asked, "The governor recently signed "Anti-CRT" legislation to stop Critical Race Theory from being taught in Mississippi's public schools. Your thoughts?"
A full 83 percent of respondents said they don't support legislation and that it's a waste of time because CRT isn't taught in Mississippi public schools. Only one respondent expressed support for the bill.
