Results are in for the October edition of the Jackson Power Poll's October 2021 edition. We asked three questions, two about Hinds County troubles and one about COVID-19.

Our first question noted that the Hinds County Detention Center faces a possible federal takeover due to its inability to meet the requirements of a consent decree. When ask if the federal government should be allowed to take it over, 41% of respondents said yes. The others, 59%, said that the Hinds County Supervisors needed to do everything they could to comply and keep that takeover from happening.

Our second question was also about the supervisors, who have had rancor in the midst. The Hinds County Board of Supervisors recently voted to remove David Archie from the post of Vice President, citing his inability to get along with others. None of our respondents said the Board acted inappropriately, while 86% said Archie needed to be removed and 14% choose "Some other answer."
