The New York Times reported this week that the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, which first surfaced in November and spread quickly even among the vaccinated, may be on the decline.

In Indiana, the number of new cases is off significantly, but hospitals remain under pressure. And vaccination rates lag much of the rest of the country.

One hundred percent of Power Poll Indy respondents, however, are vaccinated and 89 percent have received a booster shot.

Seventy-eight percent report having used at-home rapid Covid tests.

Amid indications that some Americans are finding it difficult to know whom to trust for accurate information, Power Poll respondents in the Indianapolis area say they rely primarily on public health officials, their own physicians and traditional news media.

Specific sources cited included the CDC, medical journals, Johns Hopkins University and the IN.Gov Covid dashboard.
