Respondents are divided on whether they'll do it, but they don't mind it being legal.

Legal sports betting arrived in earnest in the Baton Rouge area earlier this month when L'Auberge Casino and Hotel officially opened its sportsbook.

We asked our respondents what they thought of legal sports betting generally, and responses were pretty positive: more than 80% said they had somewhat positive or very positive feelings.

When we asked our respondents whether they're going to bet on sports themselves, they were evenly split.

One reason respondents had positive opinions? Almost all of them said it would have a positive impact on the economy and tax revenue, though they think that impact is likely to be minor.

Most of our respondents are not concerned about the possibility of sports betting compromising the integrity of athletic events, and those who were are only a little concerned.

But more respondents are worried about a potential increase in gambling addiction — though most said they were a little concerned, not very concerned.
